Easter Prata

Preparation process

  1. Cut the smoked meat into small cubes.

  2. Also cut the bread into small cubes. Beat the eggs well with a fork, then mix in the sour cream, finely chopped parsley, salt, pepper, and finely chopped garlic.

  3. Mix the bread cubes and meat together, then pour over the egg mixture and stir thoroughly. If needed, add another egg and a spoon or two of sour cream to make the mixture sufficiently moist.

  4. Cover the mixture with cling film and let it rest for at least one hour, preferably overnight.

  5. Spread the rested mixture into a greased baking dish and press it down well with your fingers so it is compact.

  6. Bake the “prata” in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30–40 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

  7. Let it cool before serving.
